As a collection attorney, Brian Menge is a strong believer in “you get what you give,” which is why many find him passionately accommodating and amicable in a highly contentious collections world. In fact, Brian most enjoys bringing together two parties to resolve a situation and settle on a mutual agreement, allowing each to walk away feeling they’ve won something.
Today, Brian represents various state agencies in legal proceedings designed to collect outstanding debt owed to the State, while ensuring both legal and regulatory compliance. Specifically, he assists the Special Counsel to the Ohio Attorney General in such matters. Brian also works with both individuals and businesses who are seeking to resolve their financial obligations by assisting in creating fair repayment options.
Known for his excellent research and writing skills, Brian has achieved a high level of success winning cases on dispositive motions based on substantive arguments. With a healthy respect for efficiency and responsiveness, Brian takes keeping clients informed and prepared very seriously.
Being a primary caregiver to an elderly family member between undergrad and law school helped shape Brian’s perspective and drive for helping people navigate through collection law issues. After obtaining his undergraduate degree in political science, he pursued a career in the legal field through Capital Law School. He was recruited as a Legal Intake Counselor by the Columbus City Attorney’s Office following outstanding performance during a prior Civil Law Clerk Externship.
When he’s not busy helping clients collect debt, Brian can be found doing just about anything physical from playing in a men’s soccer league to bowling, hiking and golfing. He’s even known to be a formidable opponent at ping pong.
