  • Human Resources Manager

    Isaac Wiles is seeking a Human Resources Manager who will report to the firm’s Chief Executive Officer/Law Firm Manager. The Human Resources Manager provides support to the firm in all aspects of its day-to-day operations, including but not limited to:

    1. Responsible for the employment, placement, and training of all support staff and paralegals.
    2. Assists in the employment, placement, and training of attorneys and law clerks.
    3. Responsible for management of the firm’s medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and other welfare plans. Oversee annual open enrollment process.  Maintain relationship with firm vendors to determine best course of action with welfare plans. 
    4. Assist in the administration and annual audit of the 401(k) plan.
    5. Responsible for implementing employee policy and procedures and ensure adherence.
    6. Responsible for employee relations, including employee counseling. Assist in performance issues, terminations, and exit interviews. 
    7. Responsible for administering the summer associate program, including assignment procedures, and review procedures.
    8. Participate in preparation of budget.
    9. Member of the firm’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee.
    10. Responsible for developing annual associate reviews, and mentor program.
    11. Responsible for annual performance reviews for staff.
    12. Responsible for planning social functions to brighten morale.

    Education and Experience

    Bachelor’s/Associate’s degree, or equivalent experience. Three to five years’ experience in all aspects of human resources and benefit administration.

  • Administrative Assistant

    Isaac Wiles seeks an administrative assistant with 3- 5+ years of legal experience to join its Litigation, Labor & Employment and Public Law Practice Groups where they will work with 4-5 experienced attorneys in the Practice Groups.

    Objective

    Provide proactive administrative support to attorneys and enhance attorney effectiveness in the delivery of legal services to the Firm’s clients.

    Classification

    Non-Exempt

    Essential Functions

    1. Responsible for producing high-quality documents by transcribing, formatting, inputting, editing, retrieving, copying and transmitting text, data, and graphics.
    2. Responsible for proofreading all work, including reading documents for content and context.
    3. Responsible for maintaining attorney calendar by coordinating meetings and conferences, docketing and monitoring court appearance dates, pleadings, and filing requirements, and updating calendar as necessary.
    4. Responsible for scheduling outside vendor services such as court reporters or expert witnesses.
    5. Responsible for submission of conflict requests and preparation and submission of new business intake forms for new clients and/or new matters, including preparation of appropriate accompanying engagement letter.
    6. Responsible for maintaining well-organized client files in electronic and, where necessary, paper form.
    7. Responsible for ensuring that attorney billable time is documented in a timely manner.
    8. Responsible for submitting proper expenses and reimbursement requests to the Accounting Department.
    9. Ability to communicate effectively and in a professional manner with all levels of employees and/or clients.
    10. Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality, which if disclosed, might have significant internal and/or external effect.

    • Knowledge of legal procedures and legal terminology
    • Proficient in Microsoft Word, along with working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and law firm time and billing software

    • Proficiency in proofreading, punctuation and grammar
    • Knowledge of electronic filing system within various courts
    • Willingness to collaborate and work together as a team
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work well under pressure
    • Dependable, with a sense of urgency, thoroughness, and high attention to detail.

    Education and Experience

    • Minimum of high school diploma (or its equivalency)
    • At least 3-5 + years of experience as administrative assistant supporting attorneys
    • Experience with document management system a plus
