While dissolution requires an amicable agreement between both parties before filing with the court, divorce is a more expensive and time-consuming process. Although quicker, it is important to note that dissolutions require both parties to be in full agreement on everything before filing with the court. Regardless of the route, these processes do not happen overnight. Untangling your assets and debts, figuring out support issues, negotiating custody issues and establishing both parties as parents who parent separately takes much more than a day. Also, every case is different — the terms of someone’s final agreement may be far different than others for a host of reasons.
